The Center for Buddhist Education (hereafter called "the Center"), established by the Buddhist Churches of America (BCA) in 2005, is a dynamic learning environment built to provide educational resources for all. 

The Center is located in the newly built Jodo Shinshu Center in Berkeley, California, just blocks from the UC Berkeley campus.

Mission Statement

To promote and foster the Buddhist Churches of Americas mission and ministerial training mission and goals through the application of Jodo Shinshu Hongwanji-ha teachings.

Our Purpose

The Center for Buddhist Education (hereafter called “CBE”), established by the Buddhist Churches of America (BCA) in 2005, is a dynamic learning environment created to provide educational resources for all. Working with a vast network of other institutions and affiliates, CBE aims to promote continuing education and participation in Jodo Shinshu Buddhist practices and cultural/life enrichment through a variety of interactive workshops, training sessions, public forums, and community events.
